Support

Help for parents and guardians using Geebop.

Write to us

Email support@geebop.com. Tell us which device you are using, its iOS or iPadOS version, and the Geebop version, which you will find in Grown-ups under About.

Please do not include a child's name, photos or other personal details. If you've found something wrong in a picture, its name and the age group are all we need.

Getting set up

Which devices does Geebop run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.

Does it need Wi-Fi or data?

No. Geebop works offline everywhere, with nothing to download after you install it.

How do I change settings?

Tap Grown-ups on the home screen and enter your parent PIN. For your security, this area locks when Geebop goes to the background and after 2 minutes without a touch.

How do I add another child?

In Grown-ups, choose Add profile. You can have up to 8 profiles on a device. Each has its own age group and saved work. To stop children from switching profiles on their own, turn on Require the parent PIN to switch profiles.

Can I choose which activities my child sees?

Yes. Activities and themes can be turned off in Grown-ups, and this applies to every profile. Unfinished pictures from a turned-off activity are hidden, not deleted.

The parent PIN

I forgot my PIN. What can I do?

Choose Forgot PIN? on the PIN screen. There is no email or online recovery, because Geebop keeps nothing online. Resetting erases every profile and all artwork on the device, then starts setup again, and it can't be undone. You will need your device passcode to confirm. If your device has no passcode, delete Geebop and install it again, which also loses all profiles and artwork.

It says to try again later.

After several wrong PINs, Geebop waits before accepting another try, starting at 30 seconds and rising to 5 minutes. Closing the app does not reset the wait.

Saved work

Can I move artwork to a new device?

Not at the moment. To keep it private, artwork stays only on the device where it was made and is left out of iCloud and computer backups. There is no way to export or share it, so it won't come with you when you set up a new device.

Will my child lose their work if the app closes?

No. Geebop saves each change as it is made, so your child can pick up where they left off. If a save ever fails, Geebop says so and offers to try again.

How do I start a picture over or delete a profile?

In Grown-ups, open the profile. Saved pictures has Start over for each picture, and Delete profile is at the bottom. The last profile can't be deleted on its own. To erase everything, use Erase all data.

Using Geebop in quiet places

Does Geebop make any sound?

No. Geebop plays no sounds or music and uses no vibration. VoiceOver still speaks if you have turned it on.

Can I make the screen dimmer?

Yes. Turn on Dim for dark rooms in Grown-ups, for a dark look with dimmer pictures.

Can I set a time limit?

Yes. Choose a length under Session in Grown-ups. At the limit, work is saved and a quiet Time for a break screen appears until you add time or end the session with your PIN. There is no countdown.

How do I keep my child inside Geebop?

Geebop can't block the Home Screen or other apps by itself. Use Guided Access, which you will find in your device's Settings under Accessibility.

Buying Geebop

Are there any in-app purchases?

No. You pay once, and there are no in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all App Store payments, so we can't issue refunds ourselves. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com to ask for one.

Where can I read about privacy?

Our privacy policy explains what stays on your device and how to delete it. Our terms cover everything else.
