Privacy policy
Last updated November 6, 2026
The short version
- The Geebop app does not collect anything from you or your child.
- Profiles and artwork stay on your device. We never see them.
- There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
- If you email us, we use your message only to help you.
Who we are
Geebop is made by Hilbren Technologies LLC ("we" or "us"). This policy covers the Geebop app for iPhone and iPad, and this website.
What stays on your device
Geebop needs a little information to work. All of it is stored only on the device where you enter it, and none of it is sent to us or anyone else.
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Profiles | A picture chosen from Geebop's own set, an age group and an optional nickname. Up to 8 profiles. The nickname can be anything, so you may prefer not to use a full name. |
| Saved work | Unfinished and finished pictures, favorites, and any bingo cards or word sets you make. |
| Settings | Choices such as session length, which activities and themes are on, and how the screen looks. |
| Parent PIN | Stored as a salted one-way hash in the iOS Keychain, on this device only. It is not synced, and Geebop cannot read the PIN back. |
Saved work is left out of iCloud and computer backups, so it is not stored anywhere else. It also means deleting the app or losing the device loses the work, and we have no copy to restore.
What the app collects
Nothing. Geebop sends nothing over the internet and works the same in Airplane Mode.
- No accounts. You never give Geebop an email address, a birth date or a password.
- No advertising, analytics or tracking. The app contains no third-party code that does any of these.
- No camera, microphone, photos, location or contacts. Geebop does not ask for access to any of them, and it sends no notifications.
- Face ID and passcode. If you reset a forgotten PIN, iOS asks you to confirm you own the device. iOS handles this, and Geebop only learns whether it succeeded.
Children's privacy
Geebop is made for children, so we built it to collect no personal information from them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or from children of any age, through the app or this website. We do not sell or share anyone's personal information.
Grown-up settings sit behind a parent PIN. If you think a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, tell us and we will delete it.
Apple and the App Store
You get Geebop through Apple's App Store. Apple handles your Apple Account, your payment and the download, under the Apple privacy policy. We do not receive your name or payment details.
Apple gives us overall sales and download reports, which do not identify you. If someone has chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in their device settings, Apple may also give us anonymous crash reports. We use these only to find and fix problems.
When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use them only to reply and to help you. Our email provider stores messages for us and must keep them secure and confidential.
We delete support emails within 12 months of the last message, or sooner if you ask. We may keep a message longer only if the law requires it. Please do not include a child's name, photos or other personal details.
This website
This website has no cookies, analytics, ads or forms, and it loads nothing from other companies. Like most websites, its hosting provider may process basic technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. We do not use this to identify anyone.
Deleting data
Everything Geebop stores is on your device, so you can delete it yourself at any time. None of this can be undone.
- One picture: in Grown-ups, open the profile, find the picture under Saved pictures and choose Start over.
- One profile: in Grown-ups, open the profile and choose Delete profile.
- Everything: in Grown-ups, choose Erase all data.
- The app: delete Geebop from your device. This removes profiles and artwork. iOS can keep the PIN hash in the Keychain after an app is deleted. If you install Geebop again, it clears the hash before setup.
To have us delete an email you sent, write to us at the address below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete personal information a company holds about you, or to object to how it is used. The only personal information we might hold is your email to us. Contact us to use any of these rights, and we will not treat you differently for doing so. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering you where the law requires a basis for this. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We would share an email only with a provider who helps us run support, if the law requires it, or if the business changes hands, in which case this policy would still apply to it. These providers must protect it at least as well as this policy does.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top. If Geebop ever needed to collect something new, we would say so here before that update was released, and ask for a parent's consent where the law requires it.
